Following multiple reports of nuisance Off-Road motorbikes and e-bikes in Sandiacre, police officers from the Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Team have carried out and will continue to carry out operations in the area to resolve the problem.
Over the last weekend in July, one bike was seized by officers as part of the operation and a Section 59 warning was issued.
Specially trained traffic officers have been patrolling on motorbikes around the area along with other plain clothed and uniformed officers.
A statement from Long Eaton SNT said: "These operations will continue and further bikes will be seized if used illegally and dangerously on public roads and places. If anyone knows the identity of anyone riding or using an illegal off-road bike or causing ASB by using one please call on 101 to report this or call crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or visit crimestoppers-uk.org."
A Section 59 warning, under the Police Reform Act 2002, is a formal notification given by a police officer to a driver whose vehicle use is causing alarm, distress, or annoyance to the public, or is considered careless or inconsiderate driving. If the driver repeats this behaviour within 12 months, the police can seize and remove the vehicle.
