The East Midlands Chamber has given its reaction to the static 2% inflation figure published by the Office for National Statistics.
Director of Policy and Insight Richard Blackmore said: “While further easing of inflation would have been welcome, economic indicators we have for the East Midlands point to growing business confidence in the region.
"Our Quarterly Economic Survey found pressure to raise prices fell among respondents and two thirds told us they expected to keep prices the same over the next three months. An interest rate cut is long anticipated, and I’d hope that’s not too far off on the horizon.”
