President of The Long Eaton Dawnbreakers Rotary Club and professional musician, Leon Wade will be putting his musical talents to the ultimate test to support local communities.
Starting at 9.00pm on Wednesday 1st March, Leon will be playing the piano in a so called 'Pianothon' for a full 24 hours at The Duchess Theatre, West Gate, Long Eaton.
For the final 2 hours he will be joined by his band, Cranberry Flick. The herculean effort is to raise funds to support two local causes: The Long Eaton & Sawley Food Bank and Treetops Hospice at Risley, as well as smaller community projects, based both local and internationally.
Leon said: "As a Rotary Club it is becoming increasingly difficult to find new ways of raising funds to support the community at a time when the need is greatest. Supported by my fellow Rotarians who will be providing both physical and moral support, I am hoping that my efforts will encourage people to give what they can at this challenging time".
People can donate by calling at the theatre during the event; by contacting the Rotary Club of Long Eaton Dawnbreakers directly; or via the Just Giving Page.
