Around 400 people, all of whom are understood to have crossed the channel in small boats have been housed in two hotels in the area whilst their asylum claims are processed.
Speaking in the Commons, the Conservative MP for Erewash, Maggie Throup said that local GPs and Police were deeply concerned, and that services were being strained whilst around 400 people in two hotels waited for their asylum clams to be processed.
