Adam Thompson has been elected as MP for Erewash. The count led to a fairly early declaration which saw him replace Maggie Throup in a Labour gain.
Taking to social media, the victor said: "All my thanks to the people of Erewash for placing their trust in me. The hard work starts now". Despite the suspension of the campaign by the Reform UK candidate Liam Booth-Isherwood before polling day, Ms Throup told Erewash Sound that she did not seek any form of re-run.
