A business with headquarters in Ilkeston is celebrating 40 years in the town alongside its 70th anniversary of trading.
Credenhill, which supplies and sells compression hosiery and medical garments, has grown from a small office on Percy Street in central London in 1955, to supporting NHS healthcare professionals and patients across the country.
The company, which employs 36 people from the surrounding area of Ilkeston has, over the years provided jobs to many more.
During the past seven decades, it has evolved to meet the changing needs of the healthcare sector, helping to ensure that patients receive the best possible support for conditions such as venous disorders, lymphoedema, leg ulcers, pregnancy-related swelling and post-surgical recovery.
The company has tripled its revenue over the last eight years and doubled its warehouse area on the Cossall Industrial Estate and now trades under the name Daylong Direct.
Paul Grove, CEO of Credenhill, said: “My father, who was first employed in 1955, went on to purchase all the shares in Credenhill, year-by-year, throughout his working life. I then gradually bought the majority shareholding in a business that I now own with my sister.
"We are immensely proud of our workforce and endeavour to look after them well. Employees tend to stay with us for a long time and we regularly celebrate team members’ 20-year anniversaries at the company. My father’s hard work and determination in the early years laid the foundation for the business we proudly run today. It is a testament to the values of resilience, integrity and a dedication to improving people’s lives.”
