The Long Eaton Natural History Society has detailed a trio of events through June and July for people, members and otherwise, to take part in.
The next Wildlife Walk is to be hosted on Saturday 15th June when an evening of moth trapping will be staged in Long Eaton Garden with a small nature reserve area. To take part, meet at 9:30pm for a session lasting around 90 minutes. Call Joan on 07527 007280 to book a place. This event will be postponed in the event of heavy rain so participants are encouraged to check before setting out.
On Monday 17th June, there will be an opportunity to explore the West Park Tree Trail, meeting at 7pm at The Leisure Centre Car Park for the walk led by Jamie Lim.
Monday 1st July will see a trip to Gedling Country Park, meeting at the site car park at 2pm (Spring Lane NG4 4PE) for an undulating walk on good paths through a variety of habitats and past several lagoons. Toilets are available. Please arrive early and enjoy lunch in the cafe before the walk which will be led by Helen Aplin. Paths are on muddy and uneven ground, wear suitable footwear.
Cost £1.50 for LENS members, guests £2.50.
