Visit Nottinghamshire launches Destination Management Plan Survey for businesses and stakeholders

Visit Nottinghamshire, the visitor economy division of Marketing Nottingham and Nottinghamshire (MNN), is calling on local businesses and stakeholders to help shape the future of the region’s visitor economy by taking part in a newly launched Destination Management Plan (DMP) survey.

The survey, hosted in collaboration with Tomorrow’s Tourism, EMCCA, and Visit England, as part of Visit Nottinghamshire’s newly awarded Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) accreditation, is designed to gather vital insights from the tourism industry and wider stakeholders to inform the development of a comprehensive Destination Management Plan. This plan will serve as a strategic blueprint for sustainable growth, enhancing Nottinghamshire’s position as a leading destination for both leisure and business visitors

The questions have been carefully structured to capture a broad range of perspectives, with separate pathways for tourism businesses and other key stakeholders. The responses will play a crucial role in shaping initiatives that support marketing efforts, infrastructure improvements, and visitor experience enhancements.

Visit Nottinghamshire's DMP survey is a key component of a wider evidence-gathering exercise, ensuring that the DMP is built on robust data and meaningful input from those invested in Nottinghamshire’s visitor economy.

Megan Powell Vreeswijk, Chief Executive Officer of Marketing Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, emphasised the importance of participation. She said: "We are committed to developing a Destination Management Plan that truly reflects the needs and aspirations of Nottingham & Nottinghamshire’s visitor economy. To do this effectively, we need input from businesses, community groups, and stakeholders across the region. Your insights will help us craft a strategy that drives economic growth, supports local businesses, and ensures a sustainable and thriving tourism sector for years to come."

VisitEngland Director Andrew Stokes said: “Great destinations are great places to live and work as well as to visit and strong governance drives place-shaping and shapes perceptions, contributing to local pride. Well run destinations can also attract new investment, increase income and create new jobs.  Getting the destination management plan right is vital to the growth of the Nottinghamshire visitor economy, and engaging local tourism businesses in this process ensures they are also invested in its success.  I urge local interested parties to fill out the survey and be part of shaping the future of Nottinghamshire’s visitor economy.”

Visit Nottinghamshire is urging businesses and stakeholders to participate as soon as possible, with a four-week window planned to maximise responses.
