The Ilkeston Talking Newspaper is a version of the Ilkeston Advertiser Newspaper which is provided in a recorded format and posted out to blind and partially sighted people in the area every week.
The editorial team are encouraging anyone who might benefit from their service, or someone who knows another who might, to get in touch and submit a new referral.
Previously, eligible people were referred by their social worker for the Blind, but this position is no longer thought to exist, and members are becoming increasingly concerned due to falling numbers using the service. Concern is to such an extent that, where once, 130 copies were being sent out each week, that figure has fallen to less than half towards the end of 2013, meaning that the group is in danger of folding.
Would be recipients can contact the chairman Peter Hodson on 0115 932 2974.
