Work starts on former stable block

Work to transform the former disused Stable Block in Long Eaton into modern, serviced office accommodation will begin in April.

This is the first of the core Town Deal projects to start construction. Once complete, the offices will be available for lease by local businesses.

The Stable Block Managed Workspace Units forms part of the Long Eaton Town Deal. The Town Deal will see up to £25 million of Government funding invested into the town, with several projects being developed.

The project has successfully obtained planning permission and listed building consent and a construction contract has been awarded, with work due to start on April 3rd, 2023.

Councillor Bryn Lewis, Lead Member for Town Centres, said: "It is excellent that work is due to get underway imminently on one of the Town Deal projects. This marks an exciting milestone as projects are now becoming a reality. This is fantastic for the town and I look forward to it being completed and seeing it utilised as a base for businesses in Long Eaton and the surrounding area.”

As the projects move forward they are subject to change, taking account of external factors that are beyond the control of the Long Eaton Town Board.
